ATA CEO: Reject request to alter election process

ATA President and CEO James May writes that requests for a "fundamental rule change" to rules on union elections have not been supported by a legitimate rationale. May says that altering longstanding voting policy "would be a dramatic disservice to hundreds of thousands of transportation employees, binding them to decisions made by a minority of their fellow workers and potentially resulting in labor discord that could jeopardize interstate commerce. The union proposal to change the election process should be rejected."
