Chicago schools resolve dispute over student's special education

A lengthy dispute over the education of a Chicago student with special needs was finally resolved with the district's placement of the student at a private school in the suburbs. "We were not trying to get [Christopher] a pony," said an attorney for Christopher Cruz, whose mother is a Chicago public-school teacher. "We were just trying to get him basic educational resources." The district plans to improve its oversight of special education, said a special-education official.
