Inclusion kindergarten teacher is Connecticut's teacher of the year

Kristi Luetjen, who teaches an inclusion kindergarten class in West Hartford, Conn., was named the state's 2009 teacher of the year. Luetjen was praised for her ability to easily integrate students with and without special needs in her classroom. When observing her class, it is difficult to identify the children with special needs, said school Principal Nancy DePalma, who also remarked that Luetjen "does what she does with such humility that she makes it look effortless."
