New curriculum helps Georgia students improve NAEP scores:

The adoption five years ago of a standards-based mathematics curriculum based on Singapore Math is being credited for the achievement of higher math test scores by eighth-graders in Georgia schools. Georgia was one of 15 states with "significant improvement" by eighth-graders, according to results from National Assessment of Educational Progress math exams released Wednesday. "I am confident this is just the beginning of the gains our students will show on national tests as our new curriculum takes hold," said state schools Superintendent Kathy Cox.
