Citi to test new type of instant rewards credit card

Citi Cards is about to launch a pilot program testing a new credit card embedded with a chip that allows cardholders to use reward points at the checkout. The Citi 2G credit cards also can be used as normal credit cards. The cards feature two buttons on the front that allow users to choose "regular credit" or "request rewards."
