Lockheed Martin wins contract to include vertical landing in U.K. F-35B

Lockheed Martin has picked up a $13 million contract to include shipborne rolling vertical landing capability in the F-35B for the U.K. The landing technique will increase the payload the jet can bring back to an aircraft carrier by 2,000 to 4,000 pounds and reduce the need to dump unused weapons or fuel before landing.
