Luby's turns its attention to burgers with Fuddruckers acquisition

Texas-based cafeteria chain Luby's gained a national presence with its $63 million purchase of fast-casual burger chain Fuddruckers earlier this year. The acquisition shifts the chain's focus from operating local cafeterias to improving on a 30-year-old burger concept that's proved popular with consumers but that some of its franchisees say will benefit from better management.
