Salad company debuts method to clean greens

Packaged-salad company Fresh Express plans to abandon the industry-standard method for cleaning its greens in favor of a wash made of organic acids commonly used in the restaurant industry, the company said. The method, called FreshRinse, was developed as part of an effort to eliminate food-safety scares and includes an acid found in milk.
