Study: Virtual goods outpace mobile ad revenues

Revenues from mobile virtual goods far outdistanced those from advertising, according to a survey of iOS applications from the analytics firm Flurry, which says the data suggest companies remain skeptical about the value of mobile ads. Virtual goods are expected to reap $2.1 billion next year, a 31% rise from 2010.
