Final Broward County, Fla., city agrees to join new 9-1-1 system

Pembroke Pines became the final Broward County, Fla., city to join a countywide 9-1-1 system, and it will house one of the county's three dispatch centers. The city held off approving the venture until it received assurances that 9-1-1 response times would be just as fast and that current Pembroke Pines dispatchers would be able to keep their jobs.
