How do diagnostic radiologists spend their work time?

Diagnostic radiologists spend 36.4% of their time interpreting images and the rest on activities that underscore the importance of having radiologists onsite, according to a study published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Conducting image-guided procedures, consulting with clinicians, running studies and submitting requisitions are among the tasks radiologists perform on a regular basis. The study also found radiologists had an average of six interactions with other providers per hour and as many as 12 interruptions.
