Interventional radiologist founds Save a Leg, Save a Life chapter in Ill.

Interventional radiologist Dr. Michael Neuwirth, head of the Carle Vein Center, is starting a chapter of the Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation in the Champaign-Urbana, Ill., region. The nonprofit foundation works to curb lower extremity amputations and improve the quality of life for people with wounds related to diabetes and peripheral artery disease. Neuwirth is recruiting podiatrists, endocrinologists, wound care specialists, geriatricians, cardiologists, advance practice nurses and other health care professionals to join the chapter.
