IT industry is being hurt by shutdown, CompTIA report says

The federal government shutdown is worrying the IT industry, a CompTIA survey says, as 1 in 4 tech companies do business with a part of government. CompTIA's Q4 IT Industry Business Confidence Index says that 42% of tech leaders are concerned about the budget battle, up from 31% in the third quarter. "The federal government alone purchases more than $80 billion in technology each year, so the effect of a shutdown directly impacts the bottom line of these companies," stated Elizabeth Hyman, CompTIA's vice president of public advocacy.
