Mich. couples await outcome of marriage equality case

A federal judge is expected to rule Wednesday on the constitutionality of Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage, and possibly its ban on same-sex adoption. If the marriage ban is struck down, same-sex marriage would become legal in the state unless a higher court overturns the ruling. Judge Bernard Friedman had planned to rule on the case earlier, but postponed his decision until after the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act in June.
