N.C. students participate in research on Monarch butterflies

Fourth-grade students at Barringer Academic Center in Charlotte, N.C., are among those helping scientists track Monarch butterflies on their annual migration to Mexico as part of lessons on the life cycle of the butterfly. Students tag the insects, record data for researchers and release the butterflies into the wild as part of the MonarchWatch program at the University of Kansas.
