Salmonella outbreak prompts recall of chicken from Costco store

Almost 40,000 pounds of chicken have been recalled by a Costco store in South San Francisco because of possible contamination with a salmonella strain, the USDA said on Sunday. The move affects 300 chicken leg, chicken salad and chicken soup products and more than 8,700 Kirkland Signature Foster Farms rotisserie chickens. The USDA said the retailer "has already taken steps to contact every customer who purchased rotisserie chicken products."
