SEC looks to simplify corporate filings, White says

The Securities and Exchange Commission wants to overhaul corporate-filing rules to eliminate unnecessary data and make it easier for investors to find information they truly need, Chairman Mary Jo White says. "We must continuously consider whether information overload is occurring as rules proliferate and as we contemplate what should and should not be required," she said.
