Starbucks fights government shutdown with texting campaign

Starbucks is extending its texting campaign calling for Washington to end the partial government shutdown, asking consumers to sign a petition at a dedicated microsite. "The large majority of Starbucks customers know how to interact with the brand via text, and the barrier for entry is much lower than via call, e-mail or other channels," said Cezar Kolodziej, CEO of Iris Mobile.
