Study: Similar diet guidelines should be given to those with, without diabetes

A German study in Diabetologia showed diabetes patients had a 62% higher overall death rate than their healthier peers. However, researchers found the association between lifestyle and mortality did not differ between the groups, suggesting that patients with diabetes should receive dietary advice similar to that given to the general public.
