Study ties PCOS to higher gestational diabetes odds

Data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health revealed the prevalence of gestational diabetes was 11.2% in women with polycystic ovary syndrome, compared with only 3.8% in those without PCOS. Researchers also found women with PCOS had a type 2 diabetes prevalence of 5.1%, while those without PCOS showed a 0.3% prevalence. The results appear in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
