Study: Wellness travel segment poised to overtake global tourism

A study released during the inaugural Global Wellness Tourism Congress in India indicates that wellness travel is set to grow at a rate of more than 9% a year through 2017, outpacing the global tourism industry by nearly 50%. The study also found that spending by international wellness tourists and domestic wellness tourists are 65% and 150% higher per trip, respectively, than that of average travelers.
