Thermoplastic device replaces screws for soft tissue-bone connections

A new soft-tissue-repair device uses a special shape-memory thermoplastic to produce a supposedly better connection than screws for attaching tendons, ligaments or soft tissue to bone. The Eclipse Soft Tissue Anchor, developed by MedShape, is currently in a controlled market release, and the company has raised $11 million for a wider launch.
