Cross-border air travel shows improvement in August

International airline travel continued to slide in August, though a slowing in the rate of decline was viewed as a sign of hope for the airline industry. Cross-border economy travel slid by 1.5% compared to August 2008, while premium travel was off 12%. Both those figures represented an improvement over July, when economy traffic dropped 2.4% and premium travel plunged 14.1%.
