Device industry ramps up lobbying efforts against proposed tax

Officials from the medical-device sector have ramped up efforts to oppose a a provision in the health bill, which could order companies to pay $4 billion in annual taxes over 10 years, after the Senate Finance Committee voted in favor of the measure. Such a proposal is "either going to raise [health care] costs or cut jobs," AdvaMed President and CEO Stephen Ubl said.
