FairPoint completes $85M fiber-to-the-node project

FairPoint Communications has announced that it wrapped up an $85 million upgrade that involved installing nearly 370 miles of fiber-optic cable in its network in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. The completion of the so-called "fiber-to-the-node" work will allow the company to begin rolling out superspeedy Internet service by the end of the year.
