Generative design allows exploration of alternatives

Generative-design software tools are becoming more prominent among design professionals because they allow architects to create structures that would not otherwise exist, experts say. The Beijing National Stadium and the Beijing National Aquatics Center are two recent examples of buildings that raised the profile of generative design, which allows users to consider alternative building forms without building detailed models. Experts also say generative design makes managing the design process and documentation easier.
