Intel's CEO on why he needed to roll the dice

Intel CEO Paul Otellini is turning the company away from its singular focus on smaller, faster chips aimed at the PC market. Otellini is the first Intel chief without an engineering background, a fact that made it tougher for him to win the respect of his troops, he says, especially as he prepared to gamble the company's future on chips aimed at mobile devices.
