Senate panel gets feedback on DP benefits

Out U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis.; John Berry, director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management; and Jimmy LaSalvia, head of gay conservative group GOProud, were among those to testify in favor of domestic-partner benefits for federal employees at a Senate panel hearing. The implementation of the benefits would make the government more competitive with the private sector and would not add significantly to its benefits cost, they testified.
