Third quarter saw Fitch upgrade 2 REITs, downgrade 2 REITs

Fitch delivered a mixed bag of ratings for REITs in the third quarter, the REIT Report Quarterly said. The ratings agency upgraded ratings outlooks for Ventas and two affiliates from stable to positive, and improved the U.K.'s Brixton's rating watch from negative to positive. On the other side of the coin, iStar's issuer default rating was taken down from B negative to double C. Fitch lowered the rating on Brookfield Asset Management's senior unsecured notes and unsecured line of credit from triple-B positive to triple B, the report said.
