Falling inventories don't boost home prices

Falling inventories usually are good for home sellers, but many buyers can't find anything that interests them because so many properties have been taken off the market. About 2.2 million homes were listed for sale at the end of September, the fewest since Realtor.com began keeping track in 2007.
