More employers look beyond resumes when recruiting

Companies such as Google and Facebook are experimenting with alternatives to the traditional job resume, George Anders writes in "The Rare Find." For example, Facebook sought out programmers by posting extremely difficult puzzles on its website and inviting engineers to solve them. "We developed this theory that occasionally there were these brilliant people out there who hadn't found their way to Silicon Valley. ... We needed a way to surface them," Facebook engineer Yishan Wong said.
