Cataract surgery improves vision in elephant's only remaining eye

Duchess, a 42-year-old elephant at Paignton Zoo in Devon, England, underwent cataract surgery on her left eye and is already showing signs that her vision has improved. Protecting the function of this eye is important because her right eye was surgically removed in 2011 due to glaucoma.
