Filipino nurses win settlement in language lawsuit

Delano Regional Medical Center in California has agreed to pay nearly $1 million to dozens of Filipino nurses and medical staff members to settle charges it created a hostile work environment, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced. The nurses filed a lawsuit after the medical center banned workers from speaking Filipino and Tagalog languages while in the workplace.
