NRC to cooperate with Minn. tribe on relicensing

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will work with the Prairie Island Indian Community as the agency tackles Xcel Energy's relicensing bid for used-fuel storage at its Prairie Island nuclear plant in Minnesota. The tribe opposes the extension. The tribe's knowledge on historical and archaeological issues and land use and environmental justice will be recognized, the NRC said.
