120 bridges need repairs after September floods in Colo.

With the inspection of 411 bridges impacted by the floods last month in Colorado, the state Department of Transportation found that 120 bridges need repairs, but not a single bridge was destroyed or needed complete replacement. "[M]uch of the damage was on the roadways approaching the bridges, and the structures, while needing repair, were still stable," said Josh Laipply, state bridge engineer for CDOT. The cost of repairs to roads and bridges could reach $475 million, said spokeswoman Amy Ford.
