Companies promote manufacturing careers to students

More than 800 manufacturers in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico celebrated the second annual Manufacturing Day on Oct. 4. Events were planned with an eye to getting students interested in careers in manufacturing. Manufacturing workers make, on average, $77,000 a year in pay and benefits, about 19% more than nonmanufacturing workers, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
