Default may be worse than shutdown -- or sequester

Defense companies could be hit harder by a U.S. government debt default than either sequestration or the federal shutdown, with the government potentially unable to pay contractors or members of the military. "Default will only compound the disastrous impacts of sequestration, shutdown and furloughs," said Chip Sheller, Aerospace Industries Association spokesman.
