Device that draws on stuff of stars could neutralize bio, chem weapons in the field

A small, portable device that could be used to neutralize chemical and biological weapons in the field generates its powerful X-rays by drawing on warm dense matter, the kind of stuff found naturally in stars and giant gas planets. In the case of the device being developed by researcher Young Bae, "nano-stars" are created by firing tiny buckyballs of 60 carbon atoms into aluminum at more than 60 miles a second.
