Google puts Overland Park, Kan., on hold after council delays

Google may plot a new course after city leaders in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park, Kan., in September postponed action on letting Google Fiber bring its gigabit network to the second-largest city in the state. On Tuesday, local attorneys working with Google said the company had put the broadband project on the back burner and asked the City Council to allow a continuance for the proposal. The city had cited potential liability concerns in holding up the project.
