House Dems warn of spectrum auction delay from government shutdown

The lingering government shutdown may force the Federal Communications Commission to put off its planned January auction of wireless spectrum, warned Democratic members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. In a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, the Democrats reminded him the auction would help fund a first responder network. They also noted that the FCC has been unable to pursue an inquiry into communication failures at the Navy Yard shootings last month.
