Ill. city council is unanimous in manager selection

The Joliet, Ill., City Council has unanimously approved hiring Jim Hock as city manager. Hock previously served as community-development director for Carpentersville. "He has an extensive background in economic development," Joliet City Councilman John Gerl said. "He's a very well-rounded guy. I think he'll do a very good job."
