Incomplete data prompts Foster Farms to cancel update on salmonella outbreak

An online news conference set to take place Monday was canceled by Foster Farms, a chicken producer linked to a continuing salmonella outbreak in 20 states, after it failed to finish gathering data it planned to talk about with media. The outbreak has so for sickened 317 people, and the event was planned to update media on Foster Farms' efforts to avoid additional illnesses. A number of furloughed epidemiology experts were recalled by the CDC to work with the state officials monitoring the outbreak.
