NYC approves work for very narrow, very tall tower

A 1,350-foot-tall, 60-foot-wide tower will be built at 107 West 57th Street in New York City now that the city has approved the plans. Work is set to begin by next spring and could be completed in 2016. SHoP Architects's Gregg Pasquarelli said that the design was inspired by the Empire State and Woolworth buildings, but "rethink[ing] them in a totally modern way."
