PG&E: Seismic reviews play a key role in relicensing of Diablo Canyon plant

Pacific Gas & Electric's decision whether to pursue the relicensing of its Diablo Canyon nuclear plant in California will hinge on the cost of any federally required seismic retrofitting, officials said. PG&E has postponed its relicensing bid while it carries out seismic studies. "After the studies are complete, we'll study the data and make a decision on license renewal," said PG&E spokesman Tom Cuddy.
