Report: Travel ads grow, work on newer channels

Travelers frequently rely on nascent digital technologies to find the best deals, and advertisers are meeting them increasingly on channels such as tablets and smartphones, according to a study from The Search Agency. Click shares for paid search ads increased more than 60% during this year's second quarter from the year-ago period. For all of 2012, in-stream video ads for travel services led all sectors with a 1.47% click-thru rate, according to PointRoll.
