Upcoming retail center in Canada will try out condo model for retailers

The New Horizon retail center is being planned for Calgary, Canada. The 280,000-square-foot complex, which will be developed via a joint venture between the Torgan Group and MPI Property Group, will borrow a concept from Asian retailers by selling open-concept condo spaces to stores or investors. The project, which will house 500 retailers, is expected to deliver in late 2016.
