Navratilova marks milestone birthday with look back at her role in gay history

As she prepares to turn 50 tomorrow, out tennis legend Martina Navratilova reflects on her role in LGBT history, from her coming out in 1981 to her participation in this year's first World OutGames in Montreal. "From my new perspective, I see a half-century of events that have added up to incredible changes," she writes. "And that's certainly an important reason to stop for a genuine reflection."
