Symbian CEO: PC era over in five years

Symbian CEO Nigel Clifford says desktop PCs "are effectively a flatlining commodity" and that smartphones are ushering in a new era in computing in a shift "as profound as the Internet and PC were in the 1990s." Clifford said the trend is accelerating quickly, thanks to increasingly sophisticated mobile screens and strong interest in the technology in developing countries.
