Some N.J. parents angry over mandatory preschool flu shots

Activists and parents rallied outside New Jersey's capitol building on Thursday, protesting mandatory flu and pneumococcal vaccinations for every child from 6 months of age to 5 years who attends preschool or a child-care center. Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk, who spoke during the protest, said parents should be able to choose whether their children receive the shots; the state's health department says the mandate protects the entire community.
