Republican lawmakers want the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to be replaced by a five-member board, in a move they say will increase accountability. "There's no proven form of governmental organization that transcends either history or human frailty," says Karen Shaw Petrou, managing partner at Federal Financial Analytics.
